Chikkaballapur, 12 July
The Chikkaballapur district administration has cancelled the ration card and Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) issued to two Pakistani nationals after they were found to have obtained the documents by concealing their nationality.
Superintendent of Police Kushal Chouksey said the action followed a complaint by the Bagepalli Tahsildar, after which both were arrested.
Police said Farah Naz, a Pakistani national, married Mohammed Ayub Khan, a native of Bagepalli, while he was working in the UAE. The couple has four children, including Mohammed Fardeen, who was born in Pakistan. While Ayub Khan and three of their children are Indian citizens, Farah Naz and Fardeen remain Pakistani nationals and were residing in Dasaiahgaripalli village in Bagepalli taluk.
A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Foreigners Act and the Representation of the People Act. Further investigation is under way.
